The Minister of Justice announces tbe proration of Mr. Outten to tße position of Senior Magistrate at Auckland and Mr. McCarthy to that of Senior Magistrate at Christehurch. A London cable states that the Hon. W. MJP., has been appointed Under-Secretary, for Food Control,—Reuter. A Christchurch message reports the death of Mr. Samuel Charles Ite, aged 92. He arrived at Aifcaroa early in lSKty, and his marriage was the first in Canterbury, It is understood that Mr. Thomas Hutchison, who was appointed to the Bench many yeais ago while in practice at Hawera, is among the magistrate who are to be-yetired owing to their having reached the age limit Mr. H. C. Williams, of the Inglewood Post Office staff, has received notice of his transfer to Awanui, in the far north. Mr. Branch, borough overseer, at Inglewood, who recently entered camp, has been turned down as unfit, and wal return to Ingfewood this week. Corporal.iL. I.
