Recently tlic Stratford Patriotic Committee made a donation of £.} to the Women's National Unserve (o permit the purchase of mothers' badges. To provent any misconception, Mr. Landers, secretary, has forwarded a letter to the freservo, stating that this donation was made from ihc general purposes fund, which is decidedly distinct trom the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The Waingongoro Sehoolhouse, near Cardirt. was all too small for (lie public assembled to fai'ewoll Mr. and Mrs. David and family. The night was anything but favorable for the function, but several cars, with passengers, made the journey, and all enjoyed the outing, despite (dements. In presenting Mr and Mrs. David with silverware and mirror and Master David with a fountain pen. Mr. O'Sullivan voiced the regret felt by th» Waingotigoro settlors at losing a family who were always neighborly and over ready to do their best in social matters, and concluded by hoping that the move contemplated would be beneficial to their gucsu, Mr. David, in replying, thanked the neighbors for their gift and generous appreciation of what he and other members of the family may have dent. They were not moving many miles from their present location, so they trouid probably see more of each other kh the days went by.
