CIRCUIT GUARTFJRIA" MEETING. The. quarterly meeting of the Xew Plymouth Methodist circuit was held iu Wlutelev Hall last night, the Rev. W. A- Sinclair presiding. The number of members returned for the quarter was 454, being an increase of ill 011 the corresponding quarter of last year. The number of junior members was 80. The financial statement showed a balance oi £24. On tlie recommendation of the Finance Committee, it was unanimously decided to grant the superintendent minister a 10 per cent, bonus on his salary. - Reports on the work of the Sunday schools and young people's organisations wero submitted and considered, and, after discussion, it was resolved that a Sunday school conference should be held in September the purpose of more fully considering the general work amongst tlie young people of the church. An appeal was received from the Conference Committee for military work, asking for contributions towards the work of tbe church's chaplain amongst our soldiers. The amount assessed for the New Plymouth circuit to raise was £2O. Tlie question of the church's effort for the local patriotic funds was considered, and it was resolved that the combined Methodist Churches of the. district should have a big effort, in November, and that the money raised be allocated between tlio various patriotic funds. Permission was granted the trustees of the Fitzroy Church to add a room to the present church building, to be used for .Sunday school purposes. , Some rearrangement of the services for the current quarter was agreed upon. The Upland Road service will be discontinued. A weekly service will he held at Omata, and a fortnightly service at Frankleigh Park. It was decided to send letters of sympathy to several members of the various congregations who had suffered bereavement during the quarter, and also messages of greeting to others on account of sickness.
