HELPING MERCANTILE SAILORS* By Telegraph.—Press Association., Dunedin, Last Night. A meeting of business men was held this afternoon to aid the effort of British and Foreign Sailors' Society to raise £260,000 for the benefit of mercantile marine sailors who ha.ve suffered through the war.' It was resolved to use every effort to raise i £20,000 to assist the movement. It w;as intimated that the Union Steam Ship' Company would! give £6OO, Wright and Stephenson £256, John Roberts [£loo, J. A. Johnstone £IOO, Brown, Ewing and Co., £IOO, which, with smaller amounts, totalled £IOSB.
