THE NEXT BALLOT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, July 9. Mr. M'Carthy, S.M., states that the next ballot will be drawn on July 16, About 10,000 names will be drawn. ENEMY ALIENS' QUESTION. Giaborne, July 0. One of the largest and most enthusiastic meetings ever held in Gisborne was addressed by the Mayor (Mr. F. D. Bedford, president of the Returned Soldiers) Association) and Sir James Carroll, and passed a resolution calling on the Government to intern all enemy aliens with, out exception during the period of the war; and, further, that all persons born of enemy alien parents who are at present holding positions in the Dominion* enabling them to acquire knowledge, the possession of which would be of value in any way to the enemy, be at once removed from those positions.
