FIRES.
PICTURE THEATRE DESTROYED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Gisborne, July 8. A fire destroyed Peacock's Theatre at Te Karaka on Saturday night. The outbreak occurred during a picture entertainment. An employee was filling a tank attached to the engine when an explosion occurred. The audience escaped without injury. The building was valued at £2500, and was insured for £I4OO.
