ON THE SEA.
AMERICAN TRANSPORT SUNK. f;5 Ko Troops aboard, i, Reseived July 7, 5.5 p.m. Washington, July 6. The American transport Covington, formerly the Hamburg-AtoerLka liner Cincinnati, was torpedoed and sunk in European waters. There were no troops aboard. Six of the crew are missing. The survivors were landed at a French port.—Prasa Assoc. BRITISH STEAMER ATTACKED. Received July 7, 6.5 p.m. New York, July 6. Passengers who have arrived at an Atlantic port from England report that the British steamer Orrita was attacktd by ft submarine off the Scotch coast. The U-boat appeared in the middle of convoyed merchantmen.—Press Assoc. NORWEGIAN LOSSES. Received July 7, 5.5 p.m. Ohristtania, July 5. Twenty Norwegian vessels, aggregating 36,223 tons, were lost during June as the mult of the war.
