ESCAPE OF GRAND DUKE MICHAEL, CLEVERLY EXECUTED. Received July 7, 6.5 p.m. Copenhagen, July 5. A Russian telegram states that a number of men disguised as Red Guards assisted the Grand Duke Michael to escape. The Red Guards showed the Governor a written order from the Soviet that it was necessary to take the Grand Duke Michael to Perm, owing to the danger of attack upon him. The Red Guards took the Grand Duke Michael in a motor car, but the next day the Governor found the order to be false. A PURE INVENTION. BERLIN MESSAGE AS TO GRAND DUKE. Received July 7, 5.5 p.m. Amsterdam, July 5. A Berlin message states that a report from Kieff declares the statement that the Grand Duke Michael was proclaimed Czar and was marching against Moscow, to be a pure invention.—Renter, KERENSKY IN FRANCE. CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY LOYAL TO ALLIES. ALLIES MUST HELP RUSSIA. Received July 7, 11.45 p.m. Paris, July 0. M. Kerensky, addressing the SociaJist group, said that the Russian Constituent Assembly group met secretly on May 10, refused to recognise the Brest Litovsk treaty, and declared their fidelity to the Allies, and that a state of war exists still between Russia and Germany Kerensky concluded by stating it was necessary for the Allies to succour Russia, which was powerless to act alone. —Press Assoc.
