DOMINION WINTER SHOW.

ANOTHER GOOD ATTENDANCE. There was a good attendance on the second day of the Dominion Show at Hawera yesterday, and again visitors expressed themselves as delighted with the excellence of the show. » The Eeturned Soldiers' Association has an exhibition of war trophies, proceeds to be in aid of the Soldiers' Club. They also have a side show—"Make the Kaiser Growl," whilst there is a small side show for patriotic purposes. A feature of the show is the catering arrangements, which are under the control of: the society, in a commodious tea room adjoining the dairy produce. Here, during the afternoon, a fine programme of music was dispensed by Mr. Higham's orchestra. The challenge shield (value, £lO 10s) presented by Messrs. James and Gillman to the school scoring most points in the farm and garden section of the public schools division was won by Okaiawa, and this shield, together with the two that were won by West End School in essays and writing, will be publicly presented to the winning schools to-mor-row by Mr. E. Dixon, Mayor of Hawera. The shields, which are of solid oak, with solid silver name plates, were on exhibition at the show yesterday, and attracted general admiration.
