ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED IN A GREEK. Ashburton, July I, Advice has been received from Long* beach homestead that a man named M'Nearn, aged sixty, who was employed by Mr. John Grigg, was found drowned in a creek near the homestead at 4 o'clock this morning. He was last seen alive at midnight. WOMAN FOUND DEAD. Oamaru, July lu An elderly woman named Mrs. Barry, whose husband i 9 In the North Island, was found dead this morning at her home, where she had been living aloneShe had not been seen since Tuesday last. The police entered the house. Deceased apparently bled to death through a tyirst varicose vein. The indications were that she had been dead for several days.
