Present indications are for strong westerly winds, backing to southerlies northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and variable winds with moderate to strong easterly to southeasterly prevailing and freshening elsewhere. Expect cold, unsettled, cloudy and misty weather, with rain generally, and further snow on the high levels. The barometer Is unsteady, but will be rising everywhere soon.
