The New York Times learns that two steamers, the Pomeranian and Medora, were torpedoed in European waters, and that 60 are missing from the Pomeranian.—Press Assoc.; i '"...: SHIPPING LOSSES IFOR MAY. Received June 27, 2.15 p.m. London, June 2G. The Admiralty announces that the merchant tonnage losses for the month of May, due to enemy action and marine risk, totalled:—'British, 225,7i35 tons; Allied and neutral, 130.5139 tons; or a grand total of 355,CT4 tons, compared with the adjusted aggregate for April of 311,456 tons, and compared with 630,386 tons for May of last year. Received June 28,12.6S a.m. Washington, June 26Allied 1 and neutral shipping sunk during the four weeks of May totalled 233,000 gross tons, according to the Navy Department's estimate.—Press Assoc. i SIX DAYS IN OPEN BOATS. , New York, June 26. Fifty-seven survivors from the steamer Geir, which was cut down and sunk in a collision with a tank steamer, off Florida, have landed. They rowed and sailed in lifeboats for 200 miles, exposed in an open boat for six days, and endured terrible sufferings before they were picked vp. One vessel fired on the lifeboat, mistaking it for a U-boat. Three of the Geir's lifeboats are still missing.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
