WEATHER FORECAST.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The barometer ha srisen slowly, and moderate to strong southerly winds have predominated, and fair weather has ruled along the east coast of the North Island, but generally cool, changeable and showery conditions have prevailed. Present indications aTe for to strong southerly winds, changing to freshening westerlies shortly, especially southwards of Cook Strait. A continuance of the cool and changeable weather is probable, with scattered showers, but considerable rainfall may be expected j shortly on the west coast and the southerni most districts. The barometer has a rising tendency, but is due to fall again soon in the i south.
