London, June 21 American official: Our machine-gun fire and patrol inflicted considerabla losses on hostile patrols north-westward of Chateau Thierry and in the WoevTe. The artillery is active in these regions and in Lorraine. A French communique reports: There is an intermittent artillery duel between Montdidier and the Oise and south of the Ainse. —Aus.-X.Z. We repulsed with loss several attempts to recapture ground north-westwards of Merris.
