In the window of Bellringer Bros.' today are some magnificent turnips, mangolds, etc., grown on the Stratford Model Dairy Farm. The specimens attracted considerable attention, and demonstrated what can foe done with the land round here in growing winter feed. "Your Own" spent a few minutes looking at the exhibit, and heard remarks passed that were decidedly flattering to the executive committee. It was an object lesson to fanners as to what care, attention, and the right use of fertilisers will do to craps. The Toko Settlers' Association also encourage farmers to adopt the best methods, as proved by results already published. Although Thursday afternoon was decidedly a day for the fireside, there were a few who braved the elements and competed in the several events held by the Gun dub- In the first shoot, Mr. Frank Casey (Eltham), off the My (I s mark, registered 15 points out of 16. Association will be held in the Town Hall on Saturday next at 150 p.m. A good attendance of memlbers is desired, as matters of vital interest to the association will be brought up for discussion, whilst the motion of the president (Mr. Boon) to hold the annual show as usual in November will also be open for decision by members. Times may bo hard with many, but their trouble is that they fail to purchase where the cash obtains the most vnlue. The secret of C. E.
