—.—. HARD AND PAST ON THE ROCKS. Received June 20, 12.30 a.m. Sydney, June 19. The captain of the Makambo sent a wireless message to-day to the effect that the vessel is still hard and fast on the rocks. All efforts to refloat her to far have failed. The steamer Induna has been despatched from Sydney to assist in salving operations. Miss Reardon, of Wilton, Khybev Road, Auckland, a passenger by 1 the Makambo, was drowned, supposedly by the upsetting of a boat in the surf while the passengers were landing. She was returning from a holiday trip to Norfolk Island.—(Press Assoc.
