POSTHUMOUS AWARDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Governor-General to-night presented posthumous awards to the next of-kin of deceased recipients. Prior to the presentation a parade of Territorials and cadets was held, the Governor reviewing 2600. The awards were as follows: Victoria Cross—Lieutenant-Comman-der William Edward. Sanders, R.NR.E. (H. Sanders, Takapuna, father), in recognition of conspicuous gallantry, consummate coolness, and skill in command of tHjM. ships in action, Military Cross—Captain Arthur Chas. Hubbard, Auckland Regiment (Mrs. E. A. Hubbard, Paeroa, mother), for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to ,dutyHe displayed great courage and initiative in leading a company in an assault on the enemy front line. Later he was largely instrumental .i n rescuing several wounded men. , Distinguished Service Cross—(PlightLieutenant T. G. Culling (Mr. T. S. Culling, Remuera, father J, in recognition of services on April 28, 1917, when, with two other machines, he engaged a formation of nine hostile scouts and a twoseater machine.
