FITZROY BOWLING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Fltzroy Bowling Club was held at the pavilion last night. Mr. S. G. Smith presided, and there were about twenty-five present. The report, after referring to the past history of tho club, expressed satisfaction at Its present financial position, and confidence in the future. Thanks were expressed to the officers and committee for their wort and Also to Mr. Percy Jury, through whose energies an excellent winter green had been prepared on ; the croquet court. The financial position and ! obligations of the club were fully explained, tho chairmen stating that prior to the offidaJ opening of the season all outstanding accounts had been paid, and there was on the year's working a credit balance of A 37 8s B<L, At I the beginning of the season a programme of matches was arranged between tho three load clubs and Waitara, and outside matches had been played with Stratford, Ingiewood, Okato, ! Pihama and Te Hiwl (Wellington). The games | were all enjoyable, and in some cases so dose ' that only one point separated the different i teams. The condition of the green was most satisfactory, which was greatly to the credit of Mr. 11. Price, the caretaker. Referring to the dub competitions, the report said Mr. L. drivers won the singles championship, Mr. 0. Oxenham being runner-up; Mr. S. Smith won the Udder competition, Mr. McLeod being the winner in the B section. The club was well represented at tho Palmerston, Wanganul aw Taranakl tournaments, and its reputation was well maintained, Mr. J. Abbott's rink reaching I the semi-finals at Wanganul, while at the local tournament his rink scored a well-deserved and popular win. The club, therefore, held tto Taranakl Shield. Referring to the croquet branch of tho club, the report stated that, owing to the small membership the club had not i been able to give the requisite attention to 1 the courts, but the membership will be greatly increased next season, and It was hoped the courts would receive the amount of work necessary to maintain them. Thanks were expressed to the ladles for their assistance during the year. The balance-sheet was read by the motion of the charimnn, seconded by Mr. Oxerihara, tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. ELECTION OP OFFICERS.

The olectlon of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. S. J. Smith; vice-president* Messrs. \V. Healy, E. Dingle, 0. Oxenham,and ,1 McNeill; general committee, Messrs. P. Jury, K. C. Cook, H. Northoni and J. Abbott, with the vice-presidents ex-offlcio; selector, Mr. H. Price; match committee, Messrs. L. Chivers and \V. Healy; green warden, Mr. H. Price; secretary, Mr. A. S. Brooker; delegates to centre, Messrs. S. J. Smith and F. H. Jackson; coach, Mr. P. Jury; croquet green warden, Mr. P Jury; croquet committee, Messrs A, Higgs aiid 0 Oxenham; committee for winter green, Messrs. P. Jury, A. Higgs and H. Price; auditor, Mr. C. S. RronelL GENERAL. It was resolved that for tho future the financial year of the club should end on May 31. It was decided that the general committee should revise the club's by-laws. The following new members were proposed: Messrs. 0. Johoson, A. Bartlett. The presentation by the president of a photograph of the winning rink in the TaranaM tournament was greeted with hearty applauso. A discussion took place on a motion to levari to tho old system of banner matches, hot tho motion wai lost. It was resolved to recommend that the n#W committee arrange friendly matches with outside clubs. It was resolved that during tho coming season both championship and junior single* be arranged, tho selector to classify the championship and Junior players. It was decided to approach the Betumea Soldiers' Association, with a view to one of their members being appointed an honorary member of the club, In order to Induce returned soldiers to take up bowling, and avail themselves of the use of the green as offered by the club. It was decided to congratulate the TogeUown Club upon Its inception, and to offer any assistance to promoting its tntgrests.
