SUPREME COURT.

NAPIER BUSINESS. I Napier, June 15. In the Supreme Court Charles Murphy and John Petterson were charged with stealing a motor car and six gallons of petrol from W. E. Campbell. Evidence showed that accused took the ear from outside tho Hastings Picture Theatre and drove to Waipukurau, leaving the car there. The jury found guilty of stealing petrol, and both were admitted to probation. Piriehra Hoana, a Maori woman, for false pretences, was sentenced to 12 months' reformative treatment. In the undefended divorce case, Arthur Henry Packer v. Clara Packer and John Gordon (co-respondent), the jury found petitioner entitled to no damages. A decree nisi was granted.
