BEEKEEPERS' ASSOCIATION.

. AKNUAL MEETING. The first annual meeting of the North Taranaki Beekeepers' Assciation wag held at the. Winter Show building on Saturday afternoon. Mr P. S. Johns (vice-President) presided. Apologies for absewe were received from the President (Dr. .Blackley) and a numbers of others. The report submitted by the secretary stated, that when the Association was formed in February last, it was decided to end the year on March 31st, and in consequence the report covered only a short period. The Executive had had correspondence with the- Horticultural branch of the Agricultural Department, which had Resulted in the district inspector (Mr Jacobson) visiting the district.' A field day had also been held for members and beekeepers generally, which was largely attended, the only drawback being the absence of the department inspector. Correspondence with, the Department had also resulted in three of the members of the Association" being nominated as inspectors for North Taranaki, and also in securing a list of beekeeper's of the district whose apairies., are registered. The list, disclosed thai many of the Association's members" had. not registered.; The report referred f<v the exhibit at the winter show, which w?,s considered very creditable and instructive'. The balance sheet showed the total receipts £2 13s 6d,'and the balance 'in hand £1 19s od. Additional members' subscriptions since the balance sheet' was prepared had brought in a further £1 10s fid. The total number of members' was 22. The chairman moved the adoption of the report, arid in doing so eulogised the work done for the Association by the secretary. The motion was seconded by. Mr E. Beal, and carried. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President,. T)r TV Blackley; -vicepresidents, Messrs 0. J. Herrick and F. S. Johns; secretary and treasurer, Mr F_ W. Sandford; committee, Miss Sand-. ford, Messrs E. Beal and H. Voght. A vote of thanks was passed ta Mr E. Beal for his work in connection with the exhibit at the winter show, and also congratulating him on winning the Association's cup. A vote of thanks to the chairman eloscd the meeting.
