EVERYBODY'S. % 'THE SHOW-DOWN" TO-NIGHT, In "The Show-Down," featuring Myrtle. <Gon-> zalez and George Fernandez, the big situation is made possible by the principal characters being shipwrecked in tho Pacific Ocean and finding shelter on an uninhabited island. The heroine is the daughter of a wealthy man, who is noted for his selfishness, and her chief admirer is a blase young man who finds life a decided bore. Forced to shift for himself, the young ehap develops unexpected courage and resource, and performs an important service for tho country. Tho girl does her part, also,, and her father turns out to be just the reverse of his reputation. In fact, the Teal characters of the entire party are brought to the surface by the primitive livea they are- compelled' to: lead. A well-selected cast brings oat the good points of the story. Myrtle Gonzalez aft Lydia Benson, GeoTgo Fernandez as her father, and Arthur Hoyt as George Chcsbora are especially effective. Other films include "Dare Devil Dan" (comedy), "Mingling Spirits" (Nestor comedy),, and a clever cartoon. "THE REGENERATES" AT THE, EMPIRE. Blue blood as an object of worship is- tbfr theme of "The Regenerates," the peculiarly named Triangle drama screened last night at the Empire for the first time. AJma Reubens heads the cast, and she is wonderful in tho role of tho healthy, wholesome girl, who refuses to link herself to her degenerate cousin, to preserve the family traditions. Walt Whitman is perfect as the proud old aristocrat with tha cast-iron will, who tramples upon the feelings of all around him, in his passionate devotion to what he considers to be the purity of the Van Dyun race. The story is full of surprises, for after tho murder of young Van Dyun It is found that be was all the time, married to the daughter of the family butler. The old man is thus forced to know that hl3 grandson is one of the plebeian strain. The love story, cf course, has a happy ending. Tho setting of the story is a triumph for tho Triangle studios. One room scene is set in the mansion of Van I Dyun, and is a masterpiece of scenic artistry. 1 Alma Keuben's dresses, too, will be of interest :to all fashion followers. !
