Speaking at tie annual meeting of the Farmers' Co-operative Organisation on Saturday, Mr W. D. Powdrell, chairman of the Kaupokonui Dairy Company,, stated that the prospects for the dairying industry next year must be considered good in view of the caibled advice that the Imperial Government would probaibly purchase both butter and•cheese at an increased price. He also referred to the prospects of glaxo which: is at present causing much interest among dairymen, and stated that a company was building three glaxo -fac-< tories and paying suppliers 3s per -lb. ■butter fat, any additional price received to go towards capital expenditure. One factory was now in course of erection in the Wadkato to cost £20,000. It had been stated that glaxo would pay 5s 6d per lb butter fat. He added that two Taranaki factories were contributing towards the expenses of three New Zealand dairy factory managers who had been sent to America to investigate various matters in connection with the industry and they would share in the results of their'report.
