FIRES.

AN INVERCMIGILL BLAZE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. • Invercargill, June 17. A fire occurred this morning in a twostorey brick block in Tay Street. Starting in Mr. Challis' fruit shop, it spread on the top floor to the premises of the United Friendly Societies, Lerthaiy (umbrella maker), and Dyson (grocer). Challis' and Lethaiby'a were completely destroyed, and the others were seriously damaged. The insurances on the buildings amounted to £2050, and on the stock of the Friendly Societies I £IOOO, and Ayson £S75._ Tho otliers -weresmaller.
