BOWLING.
STRATFORD BOWLING OLUB. The Mayor (Mr. J. W. MTVlilan), as president of the Stratford Bowling Club, presided at the annual meeting held on Friday evening in HisJVlajcsty's Theatre, there being over 40 memfbers jjresent. The report and balance-sheet disclosed a very satisfactory position, whilst improvements to tne ground to the extent of over £3O had been carried out- Mention was made of the many enjoyable inter-club games, and also to the visits to Wanganui, Palmerston North, and Dunedin tournaments. Trophies were presented to the winners as follow:—J. S. Rowe, gold medal and Curtis trophy, latter to be held for one year, for winning Championship Singles; W. Pranks, gold medal, winner of B Section ; and A. Masters, gold medal C Section/ Tlt'e election of officers resulted;— President, Mr. W. M'Donald; vice-presi-dent, Mr. H- Edgecombe; secretary and . treasurer, Mr. S. Porritt (re-elected); committee, Messrs F. J. M'Donald, J. W. M'Millan, W. Pratt, and C. Randrup; sole selector, Mr. C. Martin; green warden. Mr. W. Jfarris; delegates to centre, Messrs McDonald and EdgecombeThe sum of £l7 (is Cd was collected during the year for the Wounded, Soldiers' Fund.
