TROOPS AS SEPARATE UNITS. FIOHESTG QU AMIES PRAISED. 800,000 IN FRANCE. Received June 18, 11 j5 p.m. Washington, June 15. It is officially announced that General Foch has informed General Pershing that it is desira/ble to maintain the American forces as separate units as much as possible. American troops, brigaded with the British and French will gradually be withdrawn. Mr. Baker has announced that the fighting qualities of the American troops has received General Foch's praise, and that satisfactory progress is being made with the production of Liberty motors. It is officially reported at Washington that M. Clemenceau and Generals Focli and Pstain have congratulated General Pershing on the achievements of American troops. On the anniversary of the arrival of the American soldiers in France, Chief of Staff March announced that over 800,000 .American troops have been sent oversea, President Wilson! replying to Presij dent Poincare's congratulations on the anniversary of the United States' entry into the war, said that the United ■States intended to despatch men aril material to France until any inequality in force is entirely overcome.—Press Assoc. i . -,
