WEDDING.

BX)LMES—JULIAN A very qniet pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary's Church on June 6th, the contracting parties be'ing Miss Myrtle Evelyn Holmes, youngest daughter of Mr. jr. Holmes, Bell Block, and Mr Henry Basil Julian, of Waitara, and second son of Mr. William Henry Julian, of Inglewood. The bridge, who was given away by her brother, Mr F W Holmes, was attired in a gown of white crepe de chine, with touches of ivory hand embroidery. The yoke and sleeves were of white georgette. Her veil was prettily ar. ranged in mob cap style, and finished with pearls and sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and asparagus fern, The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss May Spurdle, neice of the bride, and Miss Elsie Julian, sister of the bridegroom, who were daintly attired in white silk tunics, neatly handembroidered, and smart black hats relieved with pink, and they carried bouquets of pink roses. The bridegroom was atended by Mr. Rupert Adams Ward as best man. After the ceremony, which was officiated by the Rev. Harvie, the g".ests were entertained by the bride's mother at May and Arrowsmith's Tea Booms, to a well set out wedding breakfast, to which the threetier wedding-cake made a handsome ornament After the usual toasts were honored the happy couple left by motor amidst showers of confetti and good wishes, en route for Wanganui and Palmerston North, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress was a shepherd's plaid check costume, with heavy top coat and a handsome set of black furs and muff The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome piano, and the bride's present to tfie bridegroom a silver wristlet watch, whilst the presents to the bridesmaids were circular gold brooehes. The presents were numerous and costly.
