ELTHAM.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, June 12, There was quite a large assemblage at Mr. Death's barn last week when a farewell was tendered- Private Torn Kelleher, During the evening Mr. A. L. Campbell, who represents the Patriotic Committee and is ever prominent at those functions, made a neat speech, in which he congratulated their guest oi\ going to the front, and wished him every success, and then, on behalf of the settlers and subscribers, presented him with a wristlet v..itch. Private Kelleher suitably acknowledged the remarks of Mr. Campbell, and hoped to be able to do his part to break down the tyranny of the Hun. The floor was excellent condition for dancing, music for which was supplied by Miss Dale, and the duties of M.C. were in the capable hands of Mr. N. Death. In connection with the aJbove I might add that three other members of the family enlisted, and I also regret to add that two, Jack and Will, have "travelled west." In consequence of having four sons away from the farm Mr Kelleher lias been obliged to close down on dairying and, as will be seen from advertisement, he has decided on a clearing sale, to be held on Monday next.
