EVERYBODY'S. The magnificent war story, "Treason," now showing at Everybody's Theatre, strikes ft new note in melodrama. The hero is a man who has won the highest honors, and ho returns home in a blaze of glory, but instead of being permitted to return to his old billet he is made to do menial tasks. He is a soldier, and obedience'is bred ':n him, but he chafes under the | indignity of his labor. One day a fit of Jealousy and a feeling of revenge cause him to give to the enemy agent the new telegraph code, which will enable them to give false signals, calculated to lure whole regiment 3 into death traps. Almost immediately he repents, and how tho code 13 recovered makes a thrilling finish to a flno drama. "Treason," with lis powerful story, its realistic battle scenes, and thrilling motor chases, kept last night's audience in quite a whirl of excitement. It is sure a line production. Included on the same programme, which will be finally shown to-n'pht, are several other good films of a diversified nature. For to-morrow's change tho management announces a new Triangle release, "Plying Colors," starring William Desmond, May Mclvor and Golda Madien. Introduced into this story are some startling athletic feats by William Desmond, including a 20ft. pole vault through a huge window (glas3 and all). William Desmoad is tho most daring athlete and the mojt physically uowerful actor in ScreeniMxL THE EMPIRE, VIOLA DANA —FRIDAY, Owing to The Empire being otherwise engaged to-night and to-morrow there will be no pictures, shown until Friday, when a new profrimme will be presented. The star film of tliln new series is a Metro wonderplay, entitled "The Mortal Sin," which features that popular little favorite, Viola Dana.. "The Mortal Sin" is a gripping melodrama of unusual character. Miss liana has one of the greatest opportunities of her career, and she has taken full advantage of 4he possibilities offered. Tho part of Jane Anders is replete with dramatic strength, ami gives this versatile little star a chance to display her great emotional ability. The final chapter of the serial.
