HUNTING.
NORTH TARANAKI HOUNDS. The North Taranaki Hounds met on Mr. Geo. Foreman's property, Tikorangi, on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Foreman's country, also that of his adjoining neighbors, had been well sparred for the meet, and although there was not a great deal of actual hunting—that is. with the pack in full cry—the afternoon proved a most enjoyable one. The hounds drew two pussies from cover, but both made straight for prohibited country, with the result that the runs, though exciting, were of short duration. Subsequently the hunt was hospitably entertained by Mrs. and the Misses Foreman, after which Mr. Halcorabe, in a few appropriate words, thanked Mr. Foreman and the adjoining farmers for their kindness in allowing the hunt the privilege of hunting over their properties, and Mts. Foreman and the Misses Foreman for the hospitable manner in which both the members of the hunt and friends had been enterialned.
