BOMBING RAIDS. A LONG RECONNAISSANCE. Received June 7, 8.35 p.m. London, June 0. The Admiralty reports that bombing raids were carried out between the 2nd and sth at Zeebrugge, Ostend, Bruges, and Thorout railway station. Large quantities of heavy bombs were dropped. We destroyed two enemy machines and drove down three. One British machine is misßing. A squadron of large seaplanes made a long reconnaisance over the North Sea and engaged a large hostile formation. They shot down two enemy machines. Two of ours on returning were forced to alight, owing to engine trouble, close to the Dutch coast, and were interned.— Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Reuter. Received June 7, 11-15 p.m. London June 7 (12.50 a.m.) . Sir Douglas Baig's aviation report states: —Wo dropped twenty tons of bomlbs on the sth, the targets including dumps, railways, billets,' also at Arjnentieres and Roye railway stations, and ait the Zeebrugge seaplane base. Long-distance day bombers heavily attacked the railway station and barracks at Yreves, the railway station at Metz and Sablon, and the railways at Kaarthus. All returnd. We bruoght down seven hostile machines, and drove down three during the day Four British machines are missing. Our night-bombers dropped thirteen tons of bomibs at the St. Quentin, Camlbrai, and Armentieres railway stations. All returned. Long-distance bombers, on the same night, dropped five tons of bombs with good results on the Metz and SaJblons railway station and the Thionville railway sidings. We, on tho morning of the 6tli, heavily attacked Coiblenz railway station, and good burst? were observed on the line All returned. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Reuter.
