AN INDEPENDENT POLISH STATE. SYMPATHY FOR JUGO-SLAVS. Received June (>, 11.25 p.m. London, June C. The Press Bureau states that the Prime Ministers of Great Britain, France and Italy, at a meeting at Versailles, agreed to the following' declarations: First, the creation of a united and independent Polish State, with free access to the sea, constituting one of the conditions of a solid, just peace, and the rule of right in Europe. Second, they associate themselves with America in its expression of earnest sympathy for the nationalistic aspirations for freedom of the Czechs, Slovaks, and Jugo-Slav peoples. GENERAL ROBERTSON. Received June G, 9.45 p.m. London, June 5. The Press Bureau announces that as a temporary measure General Robertson lias been appointed commander-in-chief in Great Britain.—Aus, N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter. MINERS DEMAND INCREASED WAGES. Received June 6, 8.20 p.m. London, June a. _ A conference of the Miners' Federation in London to-day unanimously decided to demand a substantial increase in wages to meet the increased cost of living.—Press Assoc.
