LOCAL ATTACKS.

Enemy's Attempts Smashed. Received Juno G, 7.30 p.m. Loudon, June 5 (4.4,5 p.m.). A French communique, stales: Local attacks continued in the evening and during the night of the 4th on the northern edge of Clarepoints Wood. Our machine-guns stopped two attacks. Other attempts in the region of Autriches, east of Dcinmicrs, and in the direction of Courcy, failed. Infantry action, supported by tanks, north of Courcy enabled us to improve our lno on the edge of the forest. The Germans south of the Oureq violently attacked Chezy and south-east thereof, which we smashed, inflicting serious losses. The artillery continued most lively on the bank of the Aisne, in the region of Rheims Aus. K.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter.
