A concert and dance was held in ttu Hillsborough Hall on .Tuesday evening for the purpose of raising funds to help to defray the cost of the installation of the new system of ligEing in the hall. The gathering was largely attended, and was a distinct success. All the items on the programme were keenly appreciated, encores being repeatedly demanded. Pianofort solos were given, by Misses Asher and Bishop, recitations by Miss Bishop, mologuea by Mr. Q. G6ld«wor. thy, dance by Miss Jen Was, and songa by Misses Bennett (2),.Qooker, Norris, Jeffries, and Messrs Jotuteon, Aroa, Howlett, Ashef, N. Day, «nd #. tjk e y. After the concert, refreshment* were provided by the ladies of the district, and Mr. H. 0.
