ENTERTAINMENTS.
"COME INSIDE." It la now over two years since we had a visit from the Jtoyal Strollers, and during their absence they have Brown into a bis show. Under the direction of Sydney James, by arrangement with Scott Colville, who has piloted many of the big J. and N. Talt attractions, the company will appear at the Empire Theatre for two nights on Wednesday and Thursday, 13th and 14th. In the past the Royal Strollers were known as a Costume Comedy Co., but Mr. James has gathered round him a specially selected coterie of artists, and will present what Is claimed to be a real up-to-date revue, entitled "Come Inside," which embraces all tho very best in burlesque, travesties, scenes, sketches, dances, ventriloquial discourses, ballets and scenic illusions, and the potted versions of wellknown ploys is a feature of the production. Within the last two years the Royal Strollers have played no less than 57 weeks in Sydney, and tbelr recent season at the play house broke ail records as for weeks In advance the house was booked up, and nightly hundreds were turned away. "Come Inside" Is one of those productions that are hard to describe. There is an atmosphere of extravagant gaiety and clever satire which it is said cannot fail to appeal to the most fastidious critic; one moment will present a "spasm" from Shakespeare, then a burlesque of Faust, a song, ballet, then a potted version of some well-known play, a ventriloquial sketch, instrumental interlude, parodies and burlesques of life follow one another and the whole mixture is one of wholesome, clean and good-natured humor, strung together In a truly fascinating manner. The New Plymouth season is a limited one, and two programmes will be presented, and theatre goers should have no reason to complain of the fare presented. The box plan of reserved seats will be opened at Collier's on Monday next.
