AUCKLAND TRAMWAYMEN'S DEMANDS. Auckland, Last Night. The members of the Auckland Tramways Employees' Union to-day held a secret ballot on the question of a strike. Of 510 members, 435 exercised their vote, the result being 245 in favor of a strike and 190 against, a majority of 55. A deputation of thirteen will wait on the management, to-morrow to present the demands of the men, as follows: Employees receiving below Is Id per hour to be paid 3Jd increase; from. Is Id and below Is 3d, 3d; Is 3d and over, 2|d.
