INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, June 1. The funeral of the late R. Kilpatrick to-day was one of the largest attended yet seen in Inglewood. There was a large attendance of Foresters, of which Order the deceased was a prominent member. The Rev. Ireland officiated at the graveside, and the lodge address was very aMy delivered by Mr. A. V. Caldwell, of the Foresters' Lodge. As proof of the prosperity of the district, Mr. Uewton King has had to put another large addition to his Mart premises. This makes the second effort in this direction since the firm opened ujj about two years ago, and, judging by the large stocks carried and business generally, the expense appears quite warranted. The section recently purchased from St. Andrew's Church authorities has been cleaned up, and a roadway put down from Butfield Street to Matai Street, which also gives access to the back of the Mart, 1 where a land-stage has been prected to facilitate the handling of produce, grain, manures, etc. A large portion of the section facing Butfield Street has been reserved for a motor garage, the building of which will take place in due course. Mr. King is to be commended on his enterprise and willingness to keep abreast of the times.
