NEW PLYMOUTH DEFEAT INGLEWOOD.
j The first inter-club match of the season took place at the Waiwakaiho links yesterday in perfect golfing weather, when a team from the Inglewood Club were defeated by New Plymouth, after a good game, by eight games to two, another game being all square. The visitors, who were hospitably entertained, enjoyed their outing. Detailed scores are as follow, New Plymonth being mentioned first in each caso: —■ Johns beat Gudgeon C and 5. Weston lost to Darlow 1 down. Nicoll beat E. O'Carroll 3 and 2. Wood beat Johnson 3 and 1. Hasell beat C. O'Carrol 4 and 2. Dr. Wade beat Surrey 3 and 2. Austin beat Marshall a and 4. Bloxam and Sutherland all square. C, Webster beat A. Lile 4 and 3. T, Simpson lost to Geddes 5 down and 4. Kebbell beat Cutfield 4 and 3.
