DARING EXPLOITS IN SYDNEY. Received May 31, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, May 31 A series of daring dayllWit robberies, which is occupying the attention of the police, indicates the presence of a clever gangAt midday a man grabbed notes valued at £4OO from the counter of the E.S.A. Bank and escaped with the-aid of confederates, two of whom are believed to havii been arrested in Melbourne-. Two masked armed rolbbers held up two clerks who were about to enter the Government Printing Office with over four thousand pounds, employees wages, rhey grabbed the bags, and attempted to eseaipe on a motor-cycle, but could not start it. They fired shots into the petrol tank to prevent pursuit. They kept a crowd at bay with revolvers, and succeeded in escaping, although they drojiped one bag containing three thousand pounds, which was recovered.Press Assoc. *
