ELTHAM.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, May 30. A motor-cyclist by some means or other managed to run down Mr. Tom Bootten, of .Alatapu, wOiilst in town yesterday. The pedestrian showed visible results of coming into violent contact with the roadway, his hands being badly lacerated, necessitating surgical attention. At Ra-wliitiroa a dog startled a horse in a gig driven by Air. Hodgson, and as a result the occupants were thrown out and obliged to obtain medical treatment. Alangamingi is losing one of the old-time settlers, Mr. Jack Bspin, after many years' farming in the Valley, having decided to tra-vel north and continue farming within easy reach of New Plvmouth. 1
