WEDDING.
GQPFERTH—HINZ. On May 29, .it St. Joseph's Church, New Plymouth, a quiet, but very pretty, wedding was celebrated, the contracting parties being Josephine Ida, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hlnz, of Kaimiro, aud Laurence Gopperth, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Gopperth, of New Plymouth. The Rev Dean McKenna officiated. The church was artistically decorated with pink camellias and arum lilltes. The bride, who entered the church on her father's arm, was attired in a beautiful while silk embroidered organdie muslin dress, and silk embroidered tulle veil caught back with a wreath of orange blossom. A dainty bouquet of white chrysanthemums, lyeopodium and asparagus fern, with white ribbon streamers, completed a charming toilette. The brides.maids—Miss OtilJia Hinz (sister of the bride) and Miss Hilda Schickel* {cousin of the bride) — wore becoming pale blue frocks, with orange blossom sprays in white lace, and white silk hats, trimmed with blue to match. They carried boiniuets of white - chrysanthemums, blue delphiniums and lyeopodium, with blue and white streamers, Mr. J. B. Gopperth was best man, and Mr. J. L. Hinz was groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at luncheon in Messrs. May and Arrowsmith's rooms, where the handsome three-tier cake held the piace of honor amid the golden yellow and while table decorations. The ferns picturesquely arranged round the centre pillar ar.d the walls of the room, 3et off to advantage the pretty frocks of the wedding party and guests. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by the Kev. Dean MeKenna. The other toasts were "The Bridesmaids," "The Parents of the Bride and Bridegroom," "The Kinp," and "The British Empire " The happ.v couple then left by motor for a tour of the North Island, the bride's travelling dress being a brown costume The presents showered upon the newly-wedded pair were numerous and costly, some of the cheques amounting to £SO. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold wnteh and chain, and to each of the bridesmaids, n gold bangle.
