DEATH OF PARNELL'S SISTER. London, May 2G. j Mrs. Ricketts, Charles Varnell's sister, aged Bb, died in tragic circumstances in Hie South Dublin Workhouse. She was admitted a week ago ,and her identity was unknown till her name was discovered among her belongings. Her brother states that he is unable to explain his sister's action. She had ample means to live comfortably, and (Mist have been deranged. The Daily Chronicle stateu that Mrs. Ricketts' husband, Captain Cuthbert Rickefcts, is now in Australia.—Aus.-N-Z. Cable Assoc. Paris, May 28. The Suez Canal report for 1917 shows that there were 2353 transits, representing 8,367,000 tons, 55 per cent, of which was Government traffic. There was a I reduction of 3,680,000 tons, compared with 1916.—Times.
