SHEEP DOG CHAMPION TRIALS

For the first time in tie history of dog trials in Hawera the North Island Championships will be held in Hawera at Mr. Brewer's farm, Taiporohenui. The management is under the control of the Egmont Sheep Dog Club. Valuable cups, including ten-guinea cups presented by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co., Farmers' Co-op. and Mr. Newton, Mr. R. D. D. McLean's challenge silver bowl Mr. James Lilico's handsome shield, the Rutherford Memorial Shield, and gold medals presented by Mr. Cramp, Mr. J. Harrington, and Mr. <P. Sheahan. In addition there will be good cash prizes. Entries are coming in from all parts of the North and South Islands. It is confidently expected that there will be a capital meeting. Entries close on Wednesday next, May 29, with Mr. G. 11. Stringer, Hawera. In connection with the meeting a smoke concert will be held on Tuesday evening. June 4, and a meeting of North Island delegates on Wednesday evening.
