CHINA.
A CHAOTIC STRUGGLE. BANDS CONTENDING FOR SUPREMACY. Received May 27 7.50 p.m. London, May 20. A Shanghai correspondent states that Sun Yat Sen has resigned the post of Generalissimo of the so-called Constitutional Military Government of the South-west, owing to the chaotic struggle between the numerous military leaders for supremacy. Correspondents in all the provinces tell a monotonous tale of petty warfare and brigandage. Even the Tibetans have risen, and are besieging Ohiambo. The contending sides in China are so honeycombed with intrigue and dissension that anything like centralised authority is rapidly dissolving into a series of predatory baronies.— Times Service.
