COLUMNS IN COMMUNICATION. MAIN BODY OF ENEMY ENGAGED. GERMAN HEADQUARTERS TAKEN. Received May 26, 5.5 p.m. London, May 25. An East Africa official message states:—Direct communication lias been established between Colonel Edwards' and Colonel Northey's columns Colonel rMwards occupied Nanunga, which has hitherto been the German headquarters, the enemy retiring in a south-westerly direction to Mahua. We engaged the main body of the enemy between Xanunga and Mahua and drove them eastward.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter.
