HAWERA SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
On June 4, 5, and G, the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Championships will be .run at the local couTse on Mr. Brewer's farm at Tuiporobenui, under the auspices of the Egmoirt Sheep Dog Club. Valuable cups for the championship events have been donated by the New Zealand Loan and M.A. Company, Farmers' 00-op. Organisation Society, and Newton King. These will be supplemented by good cash prizes. In addition, ther» arc other good trophies, including Mr. E. D. D. M'Lean's challenge silver bowl, Mr. James Lillico's shield, Rutherford Memorial shield, and gold medals -presented by Mrs. Cramp, Mr Harrington, and Mr. P. Shealhan- Entry fees, £1 per dog for each entry, will be received by the secretary (Mr. G. HI Stringer), Hawera, until Wednesday. May 29, at 8 p.m. The secretary reports that already entries are to hand from North Auckland,' South Canterbury, Hawke's Bay, and Bay of Plenty. It is anticipated that the entries will be very large, and ensure a most successful meeting. This will be the first championship meeting to be held at Hawera.
