Wellington, Last Night : An intense and extensive westerly I storm area still envelopes the Dominion, Westerly gales and stormy conditions have prevailed, with heavy rain in most parts, and snow on the high levels. The rivers in Westland are reported to be in flood to-day. Present indications are for a continuance of stormy weather and heavy rain •generally!, with rivers flooded in the jwestern districts, south of ICawhia, and in Otago. Expect west to south-west gales. The barometer is unsteady, but will be rising soon in the south.
