The Finance Minister, on April 30, intimated that there was n surplus of revenue over expenditure for the year of five millions. The principal items were interest and sinking funds, which increased from £4,014,791 to £4,430,779; war pensions, from £180,165 to £815,383; and old age pensions, from £453,085 to £612,463. Expenditure over the annual appropriations for the end of the two years showed an increase of nearly half a million.
