The headmaster reported to the monthly meeting of the Hawera High School Committee that by the last English mail he had received from Mr John Veats, of London, formerly of Hawera, a very fine picture of the naval hero, Cornwall, who set a noble example of sacrifice to British youths. Mr Veats presented the picture in memory of his son, who was educated at the Hawera school. This was the second occasion on which Mr Veats had presented the school with a picture.
