A London message reports the deatn of Mrs. Munro-Ferguson, mother of the of Australia. Mr. and Mrs. H. Hurle have received word that their son, Captain Sten Hurle, is a patient at St- Anns-on-Sea. Mrs. H S. Crann.Gover street, has received advice that her sixth son, Private P. Cran, was killed in action on May 2. Messrs A. M. Meyenberg and G. E. Pcarce were among those who proceeded to camp on Wednesday morning as members of the 42nd Reinforcements draft. Since receiving advico of the death of his son, Rifleman Leslie Newell, Mr Frank Newell has received a cable from Sergeant Victor Davies, who very thou'ghtfully cabled as follows:—"With Leslie after wounded; deepest sympathy. Am well." Mr. ,T. Roberts has received word that his son Frank (Chum) is missing. Private Roberts was well known throughout Taranaki, having taken a keen interest in football, being one of the district's most popular referees. Mr. and Mrs. Parker, of Smart road, have received advice that their Bon, Sergeant C. J. Parker, of the Oth Reinforcements, was wounded on May 5, and admitted to hospital. This is the second occasion on which he has been wounded, he having been wounded on June 8 la9t year. A list of war honors recently awarded, which has been issued by the Base Records Office, contains the following Taranaki names: D.C.M.: Private A. L Sturmey (Mrs. R. Hart, mother, Elthamj. Military Medal: Private A. Kindiberg (Mrs. M. Kindiberg, mother, New Plymouth), Lancc-Corporal C. R. Jury (Mrs. M. Jury, mother, New Plymouth), Private J. R. Bird (Mrs. J. Dobson, friend, Stratford). (Professors Segar, Grosamann, and Egerton and the Rev. A. B. Chappell have been appointed to the Lectures Committee of the vVorkers' Educational Association by the Auckland University College Council. The Prefessorial Board of the college has appointed Professor Egerton and the Rev. A. B. Chappell M.A., as. its representatives on the district council of the association.
