Wellington, Last NightThe Dominion Meteorologist reports: The westerly storm area has intensiiiecl to-day, though the winds are stronger in and northward of Cook Strait. Hain has fallen generally, and there has been some snow on the higher levels in the south. Freshes are reported in the Wanganui and Westland rivers. Present indications are for high westerly winds, weather stormy, with rain generally, and snow on the higher levels in the south; rivers flooded in the West Coast and southern districts. The barometer ia unsteady.
